Growth

Growth is important for our well-being. Growth is about advancing, developing, evolving, changing, etc,. This is important path of our journey in life.

Stagnation, comfort, and safety can only get us so far. It keeps us comfortable, but it also keeps us down. It allows us to settle. This cultivates boredom, lack of accomplishment, sadness, regret, among many other things. This is a path you most likely don’t want to follow.

Growth gives us opportunity, new challenges, and new adventures. Getting out of your comfort zone, doing new things, challenging yourself can help develop oneself as an individual. It can help you become a better you. And that is what you want in life to become a better you.

Growth can help you learn. It can be motivational and inspirational. It has been motivational and inspirational to me. I say all this, because I believe growth is pertinent to our well-being. The feeling of accomplishment from overcoming a challenge is a wonderful feeling, even trying is wonderful.

Learning a new skill. Doing things you never done before can be quite a rush. It is all about developing your skills and mindset. Settling, staying stuck, being comfortable can only get us so far. Nothing can happen from stability.

Having a mindset on growth can push you to overcome obstacles, challenge oneself, learn about oneself, gain knowledge and experience, build confidence, and build character.  It all starts with you and your willingness to grow. We must ask this question. Do I want to stay stuck, or do I want to move forward?

Just remember whatever obstacles, or challenges that are ahead of you to grow. There have most likely been worse challenges you have gone through. We all have gone through many challenges in life, and we are still here. This is just another challenge.

It will be scary at first. Just remind yourself that it will get easier with time. Anything new is scary at first, but the hard part is the beginning. After that, it gets better, and you will start to see growth. Remind yourself to stay positive. This will be a great learning experience. You will gain more than you will lose.

This post was inspired by my new job. It is pretty scary right now, but I know once I get the hang of it. Things will get easier and better. I know this will be the growth I need in life. Being afraid, and avoiding doesn’t get you to where you need to be. You got to try to keep pushing to grow.

Change

I am going through a change in my life right now. This change has inspired me to write the post below. This may be something I like to remind myself. Hopefully this helps you in any way.

Change can be uncomfortable. It is comforting doing things you are used to. Growth can only be obtained by change, something new, or different. It can get boring doing the same thing.

Challenging yourself can be interesting and exciting. Not knowing what to expect can be nerve-wrecking, but doing something new can help improve yourself, and your life.

Try not to fight change, or avoid it. We must learn to embrace it, so we can grow. It may be difficult at first, but it will be beneficial in the long run. We must try to think of the long-term effects when it comes to searching for a better way of living.

Change, growth, evolving is an important, and much needed part of life.

Daily Reminders

I discussed daily reminders in another post of mine, but wanted to show a visual of my reminders that help keep me motivated, focused, and grounded. I like to look at these reminders everyday. I usually try to put the most pertinent thing on top. It changes from time to time. Whenever I feel like writing something else. I just grab another paper, and add it to my list. It is nice to have these reminders to keep things on track. Having a visual can be helpful, and keep you inspired.

Embracing the Blues

I have been feeling down this past week, so I thought a post about embracing down times would be appropriate. I was inspired to write this, while I was feeling down. The wonderful thing about down, challenging, and tough times. It can invoke inspiration and creativity.

Today may not be a good day. You may not feel positive, happy, talkative, or in a good mood to entertain others. There will be days like that.

Life has its ups and downs. These times are the downs. It is okay to feel this way. It is life. Don’t feel guilty for being sad, or down. You don’t always have to be happy.

Just try not to let the negativity consume you. That can lead down a dangerous path. Just go with the motions, and remind yourself that things will get better. You will move past this, like the many other times. Immerse, and keep moving.

You can try to do things that bring you joy, or comfort. You can also look into the specific thing, or things that are bringing you down. Write them down. Look at the specific problem, or problems. Become aware. See if you can solve what is bothering, if there is an answer to the problem, or is there another way to look at the issue. Take a different perspective. It can help to understand, and accept what is bothering you.

Embracing sadness is healthy. The problem is when it lingers. When the negativity is persistent. Occasional sad times is perfectly normal. Life isn’t perfect, and neither are you. It is okay. There is nothing wrong with feeling down.

Be Productive/Active

It is important to take time away from your devices, so you can practice productivity. Watching TV, playing video games, going through emails/texts, scrolling through social media can be enjoyable, but they tend to be distractions. Nothing wrong with indulging in it, but the ability to step away from it can enhance your activity.

Now what do I mean by being productive and active? This is anything that can improve your knowledge, insight, skills, creativity etc…It is about doing things that can boost your goals, potential, personal growth/development, health, and well-being among other things.

Doing these activities can give you a sense of accomplishment. It can build your self-confidence. This will cultivate a positive mindset and happiness.

There are many things that are productive:

  • Cleaning/decluttering your house
  • Organizing things
  • Learning to play an instrument
  • Learning a language
  • Working on career/future goals
  • Cook a meal
  • Learn to cook new dishes
  • Eat healthier
  • Enhance a skill
  • work out
  • Meditate
  • Practice Yoga
  • Go for a walk
  • Write/Journal
  • Practice dancing if you dance
  • Practice singing if you sing
  • Draw if you are an artist
  • Create something
  • Learn something new
  • Do something new
  • Motivating/teaching others

I could go on, but you get the idea. All these things bring a sense of accomplishment, and can be rewarding once you do it. It is all about learning to acknowledge when you are being distracted, realizing a waste of time it can be, and stepping away from the situation. Once you step away, it is much easier to get the things you want to do accomplished.

Some things may not seem enjoyable once you start, but when you finish the activity. You will be proud of yourself, and maybe even surprise yourself for completing the task. Being productive can help you learn about yourself, and make you a better person. All of this can create a happier world for yourself.

Take On Challenges

Challenges are situations in life we should not avoid. It is something we should take on, so we can learn, grow, and develop as an individual. It is all about perspective. You can see it as defeating, or you can see it as a way to improve. Personal growth and development can bring us satisfaction and happiness. It can show how capable we are, and that we can handle many other challenges that may come our way. It is all in how you see it. Don’t allow it to cripple oneself.

Honestly living an unchallenged life can get quite tedious. We always want more, so learning to accept the challenges can be beneficial. In the short-term it can be tough, but it will benefit you greatly in the long run.

Take Time for Yourself

Reminder to love yourself, to take care of yourself, and do things for yourself. Try not to worry about what others think. Focus on yourself. Of course you should care about others, but your happiness, and health should be top priority. For parents that may be difficult, but remember you can’t be the best parent you can be, if you don’t take care of yourself. Also, always try to strive to grow and evolve personally, mentally and spiritually. It can bring fulfillment and happiness into your life.
