Try Not To Let Work Ruin Your Day

Hello lovely followers! Happy Saturday! It is a beautiful day where I am at. Hope it just as lovely where you are at. My last topic was on not letting negative people get to you. This week I will discuss work. Now work has a way of getting to all of us, but we don’t have to let it.

You wake up feeling great. Thinking today will be a good day at work. I will be positive. You go to work, and then someone, or something flips your day around. Your good day has been ruined. Now, the one thing about practicing mindfulness is that your day doesn’t have to be ruined by an event, or another person.

It is all about how you handle the situation. You are in control of your reactions. You may not control the situation, or the other person, but you can definitely control how you cope with it.

There are two ways to deal with upsetting, or stressful situations at work, or in life. The mindful, or reactive way. The reactive way can be destructive, and the mindful way can be constructive. Now you know, which way is better for your well-being, right?

When you get upset, or stressed. Remember to take a step back( I mention this a lot, mindfulness is all about ‘taking a step back’). Take deep breaths in and out. This will give you the opportunity to analyze the situation. This will give the space, and time to calm down. Instead of focusing on the negative. This will help you see the reality. Take a different perspective.

Remember not to react right away. This can be hard, but you must try to let the feelings ride out, and flow through you. Remind yourself the feeling will eventually fade. Be sad, upset, angry, annoyed, anxious etc,… Just be. Everything will become clear, and your day will go back to the positive, and happy day it was.

It is all about reminding yourself, and being aware. A mindful approach will bring you back to where you need to be. You will realize it isn’t worth your peace of mind, and happiness. You will have a good day, no matter what challenges come your way!
